G7's WATER PISTOL

The G7 politicians are tut-tutting about the recent campaign focus by Prime Minister Raila Odinga on his reform history — his record of fighting for the second liberation while the others went to bed with the oppressive regime, his mysterious was-he-or-wasn’t-he the main planner of the 1982 coup de tat, his equally mysterious turn around that Uhuru and Ruto should be allowed to vie for the presidency. Some of the tut-tutters are upset at any suggestion that this election is about the reformists versus the non-reformists. Others decry the personalization of the reform agenda: why can’t we just discuss change?

The new constitutional dispensation has put Kenya on the reform path, the country has gone from being dictatorial to being democratic; meanwhile, the new constitutional dispensation seeks to define the kind of leadership Kenyans can expect,  but not enough to offset the dark forces of impunity who are pro-statuesquo. As a nation, Kenya still needs a lot of reforms to see the changes we expect, thus we need a leader who is best suited to fully implement the constitution and safeguard reforms.

The bottom line in all this is that the G7 are firing blanks with their tut-tutting that the reform is a past thing and change is the in-thing to ensure transformation. If they decide to focus only on change!, what they’re basically doing is giving a cold shoulder to a myriad of issues bedeviling this country..

To put it nicely, “the G7 has an unloaded water pistol pointed at Raila’s head.” Actually, it’s even better: The G7 can, if it chooses, fire more shots at Raila’s reform agenda — but it’s a hot day, and he would actually enjoy it.

The fact that the G7 has had to go down into the mud to portray reform as a past thing and not needed now is a sad comment on the nature of politics. The G7 politicians are probably sincere about their calling to ‘the house on the hill’, but their alignment in the way of tribal alliances masquerading as political parties with the aim of stopping a particular individual, points to extremities within the alliance, thus producing a Frankenstein of contradictions on their ambiguous ‘change!’ message . In a better day, Kenyans wouldn’t be treated to the theatre of absurdity; we would hear intelligent discourse from both sides and vote in the best interests of the country.

So as I said, this election is, in substantive terms, about the reformists versus the rest, and it would be doing voters a disservice to pretend otherwise.

According to a book by one of my favorite authors; Liberty and Tyranny by Mark Levin, “change is a manifest marked distinction which ill men with ill designs, or weak men incapable of any designs, will constantly be embracing. It alters the substance of the objects themselves and gets rid of all their essential good whilst reform is a direct application of a remedy to the grievance complained of….”

The Kenyan people are hungrier for reformation not change. Whoever has a ‘real-loaded’ pistol will feed them and get their votes. The G7 should think about their capability of doing the former. They should take my advice; ditch the unloaded ‘water pistol’ and go get a loaded ‘pistol’, better than Mr. Odinga’s. The ball is in their court, the prerogative is theirs to let it gather no moss.

Bam! Bam! Bam! It should fire!

Churchill Ndambuki a.k.a Mwalimu King’ang’i goes mad

Churchill Ndambuki  a.k.a Mwalimu King’ang’i goes mad
And it’s a beautiful thing to see.

Today strictly campus once again goes after the Big Lie — the claim by the Entertainment Director,  that Churchill snubbed the ‘Churchill Live Show’ in chep for a better paying one in coast — and drives home the point that the people advancing this story aren’t just tricksters but are acting with intent, engaged in deliberate deception and grand larceny.

In Makale’s and his co-conspirators adverts; posted on 'STRICTLY CAMPUS' timeline back on 26th June, thanks to technology we can even trace time, 6:31pm it read: "wow.... Churchill Live show happenin live at chep....(University of Eldoret to be) meet Eric Omondi, Fred Omondi and Churchill among other Live at chep....advance tickets goin on sale, 29th june....."

"for easy advance ticket za Churchill Live, u can get them from E17, or call 0715209012, the tickets r limted n almost done, hurry" posted on 28th june 5:26am.

Makale started harvesting fruits from the low-hanging branches as praises from the first years started flowing towards the entertainment director 'Makale' for pulling such a big gig, the students (first years) welcomed the events timing given they were winding up their end semester exams, not knowing the intrigues and power play in campus. However on a popular campus political group "Campus online Kamukunji" comrades questioned the eligibility of the event and whether it was not a PR gimmick to attract people. The entertainment director,

Makale, moved stealthily to put the comrades fear to rest by confirming that the event was indeed there and it was not a façade, as he had already agreed ‘terms and conditions’ with Churchill. On the D-day of the event, ‘kalahary Ibz makale’ (paul makale’s fb name) posted on campus online urging comrades to avail themselves and have a fun-filled Saturday with rib-tickling entertainment.

It was after ….( what happened )….. Excuses started being given on why the event failed. There was no official communication about the event, as comrades demanded for a refund of their money. Posts surfaced online on what happened, with blame being pointed from different quarters to Churchill and to the organizers.

This is what Melvin Wawire posted on strictly campus “wase tulieni.....c mnajua tu churchil hua msee wa maringo...he had confermed anakam then at around 7:00 pm akadinda tena juu he got a phone call from a certain rich fela in malindi ,so he weighed the amounts and decided on what he decided ,so makale shuldn’t be blamed he tried wat he cud ....kwa hio hasira there is another function on sato en he’s yet to decide on hu shud kam ....so chil out guyz.”

One Billyyegon Rotich Retorted “you are a liar! Churchill was in kitwek nyt n he didn't perform. He's looking for this culprits no. so that he can take a necessary action, inbox me the contacts of whoever claims he had organized the function in conjunction with Churchill” Others seemed to be part of the ‘makales organizing committee’; Billyyegon Rotich ‎ quipped “@Teddy nipe no ya hawa vulturesTeddy Courage: “Ni wa2 wangu usiwaite vltres...veev thot so!” Teddy Courage seemed to know the organizers asking them to be spared.

The man on of the moment, Makale, remained silent all through and adapted a favorite tactic, the ostrich philosophy: He took victory laps whenever comments casting churchill in a bad light, and glorifying him were posted in ‘campus online’. All you could see after such comments was ‘kalahary ibz makale likes this!’ His intellectual dishonesty was now on vivid display.
The discussion going on online on the scandal isn’t just a case where different people look at the same facts but reach different conclusions. Instead, we’re looking at a situation in which one side of the debate just isn’t interested in the truth, in which alleged ‘Churchill snub’ is actually just a propaganda.

Comrades Calls for Makale to speak up, of course, gets them declared “shrill”, denounced as partisan and getting personal; comrades are supposed to pretend that we’re having a civilized discussion between the organizers with good intentions, as if the mendacity were equal on both sides. Sorry, but it isn’t. Makale isn’t an angel; he is human and sometimes corrupt — but he does operate a lie machine 24/7

Comrades managed to reach Churchill upon their disappointment. Look at this tweet by Churchill® “@MwalimuChurchill  @KevynnYusuf “…you know yusuf, its you guyz who told me about that event...not the ones who organised it”.

CSP contacted Laugh Industry and they had this to say ……(from email)…..

Mail reply from laugh industry >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dear sir, madam

This is to inform you that laugh industry has not in the recent past engaged Churchill in any event outside Nairobi. All laugh industry events are usually publicized via legal media namely, National newspaper, classic 105, KISS 100 and Mwalimu Kingangi Facebook page. However we will appreciate if you can kindly give us in confidence the information on who were the organizers of the said event and where it was so that we can take legal action against them.if you can get their contacts please forward to this email address so as to take appropriate action. Please feel free to share the above to any parties concerned because we are not responsible for organization, planning and execution of that event.

The Students Governing Council (CUCSO) only response came from the sports director Kennedy Urudi, who while addressing an issue on a departed comrade, among other things, pooh-poohs concerns that cucso is just covering its ears and yelling “La, la, la, we can’t hear you.” Urudi weasels a bit, but basically conveys the impression that a culture of corruption has returned like a malignant tumor and it must be stamped out. he quips

hi guyz, my sincere condolences to the family, relatives and friends of Dickson Ireri and the entire chep community, R.I.P DICKY. 2nd is about the Churchil Live issue. I managed to reach him and this is what he sent me on my inbox and I quote " we are also looking out for whoever organised the event and take necessary actions. I learnt of this event on facebook and twitter, and only because I was being asked if I will be there...if you have contacts of the organisers please let me know here...in future any event that I attend must be organised by or in conjuction with Laugh Industry & will definately be on media everywhere!...ni muhimu watu wajue hivyo!!...but otherwise poleni for the dissapointment caused by them...nitakuja tukijipanga hivi karibuni"”

Churchill has threatened legal action, will Paul Makale, scion of the SGC, take a legal bullet, acknowledging in court that, yes, yes, he falsely used Churchill’s name to solicit for money. His affect — silence and resilience — suggests he might have expected worse. And this week, the curtain rises on an impersonation and extortion trial. It might appear a strictly Off ‘River road’ production, as CSP has ensnared a couple of obscure operatives who were part of the organizing committee and have volunteered information, Important details are shadowed in pretrial murk.

But the trial is tantalizing for where its tentacles extend — linking corruption in the SGC, and touching on the curious fashion in which the ‘directors’ pursue their chosen game.

Story compiled and written by the CSP investigative team. We will soon be releasing more on this…
